It is important to repeat here the Royal Facultatieve’s task. This is: “Providing information to support people in making a personal choice when departing this life or when bidding farewell to loved ones”, the emphasis being on individual free choice.

To be able to make responsible choices, it is necessary to transfer knowledge. Facultatieve's projects are therefore largely aimed at supplying information. Some of the required information is already available from government or other organisations. But the Society aims, on the one hand, to fulfil an encyclopaedic function where information (referred or otherwise) is easily accessed and, on the other hand, to be a source of specific information (for specific groups). Always, however, from the point of view of achieving individual free choice.
