Wiel Hillebrandt new chairman of the Royal Society
During the 130th Annual Meeting on 14 October 2006, Mr. W.H.J.M. Hillebrandt was appointed the new chairman of the Royal Dutch Cremation Society ‘the Facultatieve’. He succeeds Mr. J.M. Sepers, who passed away in April of that same year.
Mr. Hillebrandt has been a member of the Royal Society since 1991, and was appointed delegate to the Southern District that same year. One year later, he became member of the General Assembly.
From its inception in 1993 until it was disbanded in 2005, Mr. Hillebrandt was very active in the Activities Working Group, including many years as secretary. During that time, he was involved in realization and execution of the 1995 Asbestemming (Final resting place of ashes) brochure, the Aanmoedigingsprijs (Encouragement Prize) from 1997 onwards, the jubilee exhibition in the Museon (1999) and the Van verbod tot vrije keuze (From prohibition to free choice) folder. In 2000, Mr. Hillebrandt was appointed secretary to the Executive Committee.
Mr. P.G. Kok (General Assembly member) succeeds Mr. Hillebrandt as secretary to the Executive Committee.
