Organisation

The Royal Dutch 'Facultatieve' has nearly 100,000 members.
A General Assembly is selected from these members, and of course the Facultatieve also has an Executive Committee.

The ‘organisation’ functions in a fashion comparable to that of the Netherlands. The Dutch population elects the Parliament (Lower Chamber and, via provincial elections, also the Upper Chamber), and the Parliament assembles the Government (Ministers).

The Dutch Parliament reviews the activities of the various Ministers against the political criteria. In the same way, the General Assembly reviews plans developed by the Executive Committee and monitors the degree to which the execution of these plans harmonizes with or deviates from the original idea.

Just as Government Ministers in the Netherlands have an executive body (read: the Civil Servants within the Ministries), similarly the Royal Facultatieve’s Executive Committee can call on the expertise and capacities of 'the Facultatieve Group'.

This way of working provides a solid foundation for further activities of the Royal Dutch 'Facultatieve'. Bear in mind that, like so many associations in the Netherlands, the Facultatieve is partly run by volunteers!
